Places for living, shopping, working, learning and worship have the potential to achieve a higher degree of public importance and prominence. These spaces can achieve this prominence through their ability to affect the life of individuals in a collective atmosphere, defining one's understanding of a region and its culture. They can also serve as the epicenter of a community by helping to define it. While many of us spend more time at work than awake at home, work places are often neglected from a design standpoint. At LOCUS we strive to create work environments which allow for flexibility and change but still enhance the everyday work experience. We create commercial and retail spaces that offer experiences beyond the banality of shopping. Places for learning and worship are poetic, spiritual and designed to heighten one's awareness of one's surroundings and the physical and metaphysical world.
