The Trailhead serves as a year-round connection point to Dakota County’s popular skiing, hiking and mountain biking trails. We brought our outdoor experience to the building program to create fun spaces that function efficiently.

The project included a new parking lot, picnic pavilion, changing rooms and bathrooms - all designed to endure the wear and tear of mountain bikes.

Cost effective and durable materials, such as concrete block, steel, and ipe wood were thoughtfully arranged to create a modern and inviting trailhead.

The treads of mountain bike tires were sand blasted into the concrete block walls adding a unique texture and varied pattern over the bathroom building. The intersection of two horizontal roof planes (of differing height) defines the passage between the parking lot and trail access.

The lower roof contains bathrooms and mechanical space, while the upper roof hovers over picnic tables, and changing room cubes - big enough for riders and their bikes.

With the new facility and nearly 12 miles of single track for riders of all skill levels, Lebanon Hills has become one of the go-to trails in the metro area.
