Public

A truly public gesture is unselfish, beneficial, and thoughtful.  Worthy public architecture demonstrates all three, a high standard most buildings aren’t designed to meet.

We believe experiences are more memorable than objects, but admittedly more difficult to measure.  With all our public work, be it for leisure, commerce, or human interaction, our world view asks us to service our client as well as the larger community.  We don’t specialize in project type (hospitals, schools, restaurants, etc.) because we feel all types have the potential for significance.  Whether organizing tread print workshops, teaching students how to build, hosting lectures on collaboration, designing a simple park shelter, or creating a dynamic environment for a circus arts school, we bring unyielding enthusiasm to making architecture worthy of the label “public.”

Is your building not supporting the Mission of your organization, but you’re not ready for our full-service design yet?  We can help.  A one-day quick fix includes both Locus partners, allowing you to explore pre-design ideas, your sustainable future, and understand the desires of your staff and/or patrons.

Fact finding.  We investigate your facility while you introduce us to your problems.
Problem solving.  We lead a 4-hour design charrette with stakeholders to attack issues, set direction, and propose solutions.
1-hour Presentation.  We invite your entire organization for a recap of the day’s events, with a sprinkling of past solutions illustrating our collaborative process.

For $1,000 in design costs, a reimagining awaits.
