Streetfront Development and Good Neighbor Homes assembled a three parcel site at the heart of Linden Hills with a shared ambition: to create housing that feels inseparable from its neighborhood. From the outset, the development team and Locus Architecture aligned around a commitment to contextual design—architecture that respects the scale, character, and social fabric of this walkable, small town enclave within the city.
The resulting proposal is a four story condominium building with 15 thoughtfully designed homes. The architecture draws directly from Linden Hills’ residential character, translating familiar elements into a contemporary multifamily form. The exterior features Minnesota dolomitic limestone, selected for its durability and warm presence throughout the seasons, paired with wood accents at patios to evoke a sense of Scandinavian comfort and craft.
Inside, each residence occupies a corner condition, maximizing daylight and neighborhood connection; nearly three quarters of the units enjoy southern exposure. Floor plans are intentionally designed for residents transitioning from single family homes to condominium living—offering generous light, intuitive layouts, and a sense of familiarity within a more efficient urban footprint.
The project reflects a collaborative effort across disciplines, bringing together architecture, interior design, construction, structural engineering, and site planning to deliver housing that enhances the neighborhood rather than competes with it. Together, the team created a building that feels both rooted and refined—a natural extension of Linden Hills’ enduring character.
